Parker, Colorado

 The weather is still pleasant (60's) so Michele and I headed over to nearby Parker.

This is a tiny Western/Victorian, artistic town of under 70,000 people, Southeast of Denver. And you get a good view of the surrounding Rocky Mountain range from there.

Pleasant place to hang out.

No cel camera can truly capture the beauty of the Rockies!

Then it was on to a lovely Jamaican restaurant.

Reggae Pot not only serves delicious Jamaican food. The red peas soup, oxtail and gungo rice and peas were delicious. 

They also educate patrons about Jamaican music and culture via music boards.

Even met a St. Lucian there.

He's moving to Canada because of Trump though.😁🤣

The cultural mix

 I love Tamarac. It's such a fun city with a warm culture.

One Love is the unofficial Jamaican motto.

Today we seniors had a program called 'the cultural mix' where we celebrated our diverse cultures using food, fashion and dance.

It sure was fun.

Yup. We have a wide representation of people from all over the world.

And it's peaceful coexistence.

Tamarac is in reality the city of your dreams.

 Boy, am I glad I took in this event!

The food was really boonoonoonoos, especially the jerk pork and rice and peas made with green gungo😋.

The line at the food tent. "Mass Ran" was the jerk man!

The mannish water was good too but they never figured out how to keep it hot! They needed a big pot with coals underneath and then it would really sell aff, as we say a yard. 

I reconnected with friends too and surprise of surprises, my niece- in -law Lakshmi whom I hadn't seen for decades.

Hadn't seen her for years.

My Guyanese sister Marie came with me and enjoyed herself too .

Everything was there. Entertainment for the kids. Great food, music, and lots of Jamaican products.

I have to watch where I open my mouth for as I sat down under a tent and opened my mouth, a lady recognized my voice!🤣
