The good news is that my condition is not life-threatening. If it persists, they will use electric shocks to correct the abnormal heart rhythm
The bad news is old age sucks.😡
I spent more than four hours dying of hunger in the emergency room while they stuck all sorts of things in me.
Then the doctor came to tell me the results.
I have a heart condition called SVT . Below is the overview from Mayo Clinic.
(Overview
Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) is a type of irregular heartbeat, also called an arrhythmia. It's a very fast or erratic heartbeat that affects the heart's upper chambers.)
Read the rest of the Mayo explanation at: https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/supraventricular-tachycardia/symptoms-causes/syc-20355243.
Now I am also hearing that two close relatives are having similar experiences.
A case of bad genes, I guess. Sigh.
In my case, it's really just an escalation of something I was diagnosed with about 30 years ago.
Then, it was a slow heart rate.
I took nothing for it but exercised more. And for years it never bothered me so I never bothered it.
Now, as I get older, my heart apparently speeds up every couple of weeks causing this dizziness and shortness of breath.
It's a great relief to know what has been causing my episodes.
I am told to follow up with a cardiologist, wear a heart monitor and take magnesium.
Happy too it was not my theory of dehydration.
What bugs me is the number of so-called specialists and tests I took over the last two years and no one could find out what was causing the various episodes.
Big up Cleveland Clinic.👍
The prize for this day of starvation was jerk pork with rice and peas and oxtail gravy, which my one and only ever loving grandson had waiting for me at home.
Behind every dark cloud ..........😊.
