I have to take my hat off to the Sri Lankan authorities for providing efficient transportation in the city for their millions of for people.
That can't be easy, but they have it down pat.
And transportation is cheap here for can you believe ordinary bus fares are only equivalent to around ten cents US per leg?
I hear many people have cars but they don't ordinarily drive daily unless taking their families out!
Sri Lanka is a dedicated Buddhist country and most buses have statues of Lord Buddha on their dashboards. Also the extra spacious seat right behind the driver, is reserved for Buddhist monks. And while men can sit beside the male monks women can't.
The buses run regularly too, 24 hours in some areas I am told.

A tuk tuk taxi |
There are also thousands of tuk tuk and regular car taxis available all over the place, quite a few ride-share companies operate here and train service chips in during work hours. (You can get bike, car or tuk tuk with your ride share app.)
We took public transportation yesterday to visit the zoo and I am bowled over by the efficiency.
No long waits anywhere.
But I was surely disappointed with the zoo, for I expected so much more in a country that has such a wonderful variety of animals.π.
Clearly the money they allocate to the zoo is not adequate, as many animals appeared poorly cared for, emaciated, lethargic and even sad.

In my book it would be better if they closed it down. But I suppose it still provides education and enjoyment for families and kids, as they were all over.
The museum was nicely kept and educational though and the aquarium well stocked with a good variety of sea creatures.
And the birds were absolutely beautiful.
Of course a shrine for Lord Buddha was there.
There were also great backdrops for photography and Sharlene and I took advantage of them.π.
The zoo is in the Colombo, the capital city.
I look forward to travelling out to the country areas to see the wonderful animals in their natural environment.

Take care of yourself and Sharlene. Please remember my instructions, don't try to enter the cages. Those meat eaters may size you up as well seasoned meat
As always know you are loved π
