I love elephants 💞

I just love elephants. They are so regal, loving, huge and harmless.

I could spend hours just playing with/ watching/admiring and photographing them.

And that's about what I did on my recent visit to their orphanage in Pinawala in Sri Lanka.💞.

Oh boy, that visit made my day, week year.😊

All of the above are females and their babies.

The male elephants all have on chains, to more easily control them I guess.

Only 7% of Sri Lankan male elephants have tusks. Most African male adult elephants are tusked!

I love feeding elephants. They are so greedy😁.

They sell plates of fruits at the orphanage for you to feed them from.

Sigh, wish I lived closer to elephants. But I need to be grateful for small mercies as I did get to spend lots of time with them on a recent visit to the orphanage in Sri Lanka.

Off to the Maha Oya River where they cool down twice daily in their favorite mud holes and frolic in the water.

Another great day with the huge, friendly, elegant animals.
