Trump suffering from dementia!

 If ever there was a ‘Teflon don,’ it’s Donald Trump himself.

You know, a lot of us laughed when he declared in the 2016 campaign for president that he could kill a man on 5th Avenue and get away with it, but history has demonstrated that Trump knows his people. 

For while he has not actually killed anyone (that we know of), he has done just about everything else and gets away with it. 

He has used money that he collected for his foundation for his own use, refused to pay workmen and robbed those who enrolled in his Trump University, been an extreme racist, compromised the country's foreign policy with China after Ivanka received numerous copyrights from that country, used his expensive hotels to house secret service people guarding him at taxpayer's expense, is a super predator who had grabbed random women by their p*****, instigated an insurrection after trying to steal an election, tried to withhold funds from Ukraine unless they assisted him in dirty tricks for the 2020 elections and on and on. 

Name it and Trump has done it, but he retains unshakable support from most Christians and majority whites. 

I am watching this civil rape case brought by E. Jean Carrol with great interest.

Most likely she will not succeed but what has amazed me is how the media has virtually ignored his creeping dementia as revealed in this trial.  

As I said, he is covered in teflon, so while we all recognize that Biden is too old to run again, (Joan, my views: He is just too old! (joan-myviews.blogspot.com)  we often fail to point out that this also applies to Trump, as he is only four years younger than Biden and is far less mentally competent!

Where Trump's dementia surfaced dramatically again for the world to see, was in his deposition for this case. For, after claiming he didn't know his accuser, when he was shown a photo in which both she and he were quite clear, he misidentified his rape victim as his ex-wife Marla. 😅😅😅

In my book, this is clear evidence that his dementia is galloping!

Val Demings deserves a special award!

For the benefit of those who don’t know her, she is the person challenging Republican Marco Rubio for a senate seat in Florida.

To tell the truth, as I am new to Florida, I had never heard about her until I started to see her ads for the senate seat on tv. However, I now know she is a former chief at the Orlando Police Department and the elected Representative for the Florida's 10th congressional district in the US Congress since 2016.

In my book, the special award she deserves is for exposing Republican men, a few brain-washed females and conservative members of the Supreme court, for supporting violent criminals while trying to victimize further, their female victims.

 In one of her television ads, Ms. Demings, as a former police officer, reminds the naïve that rape and incest are criminal offences. 

And I might add, extremely violent offences.

For in their rush to persecute women and children who are violated by these violent offenders and will no doubt suffer mental trauma for years to come,  the Republicans regularly paper over these criminal acts and show no disapproval of them!

For centuries, the debate about nurture versus nature has been topical with no side winning. However, wouldn’t most children born of violence be doomed to themselves perpetuate violence? Is it therefore surprising that statistics show that violence in the USA is increasing exponentially.

I say no surprise, as children naturally carry a lot of the traits inherited from their parents.  While no comprehensive study has ever been done, I suspect that a high percentage of the persons conceived via rape or incest, end up as purveyors themselves. Especially with  powerful voice like the GOP treating these violent acts as nothing. 

For in their rush to take away control of our bodies from us, that’s exactly what they are implying. In fact, one even gets the impression that they think violent rapists and incestuous men are saints and their victims, sinners.

Thank you Val Demings for clarifying the matter so succinctly.

Abortion

I fervently believe that every human adult has a right to be in control of their own body, period.

So, I am of course consumed by the madness in the USA, where a bunch of mostly white men, (plus Clarence Thomas who is an Uncle Tom!) had the gall to overturn Roe v Wade.  Ie. Now a woman has no control over what happens to her body and if she does what these men say she shouldn’t, she could become a criminal.

I was also sick to the stomach watching Donald Trump gloat that it was his selection of conservative judges that brought this about. This from a man whose main claim to fame is that he has been accused by more than twenty women for rape/sexual harassment and admittedly grabbing women by their pussies!

He is clearly reinforcing the theme popular in the white evangelical movement and among most male conservatives that women were put on earth to give men pleasure and are in no way, shape or form equal to men!

Can you imagine these heartess anti-abortion people have no concern where the mother’s health is at risk, or if the pregnancy of a child was caused impregnated through rape or incest! In such a case, it is the mental health of the child versus the fetus.

Can you imagine the mental damage it must do to the child to have to carry around the constant reminder of the trauma for months on end?

In my book, whether one is Republican, Democrat or no party, no one can be dogmatic about when a fetus becomes a human being. Is it when a heart-beat can be detected or when the fetus is capable of surviving on its own?

I have no idea and personally have no problem with early abortion, that is, when it is a mere egg mixed with some sperm.

Beyond that though, personally, it makes me a bit queasy.

HOWEVER ONLY THE WOMAN, HER CONSCIENCE, MEDICAL ADVISOR AND WHERE RELEVANT, FAMILY, should make that decision, certainly not men or government.

For if government is to get involved in what is done to people’s body, shouldn’t they start giving vasectomies to men who have a maximum two children and do not support them? For we know, that many women are forced to have abortions as they know they cannot afford to support a child.

In the great USA, almost 15 million children are found to live in poverty!

According to recent statistics, in the USA, there are more women registered to vote than men, (74.1% v 71.2%), so it seems to me that women need to be mobilized to decide who should be in control of their bodies.

Problem is, the Republicans who are the ones who are convinced that they were put on earth to control women, are much better political strategists than the Democrats who say they are for personal liberties.

Quite frankly, I find the Democrats quite ineffective and reactionary.

They never seem to be capable of developing plans and strategies to advance their policies, but instead are always bawling about what the Republicans are doing!

That’s why Lindsay Graham could boast that Republicans decided fifty years ago to overturn Roe v Wade and worked towards controlling the Supreme Court. That is why The NRA through the Republicans can keep weapons of war on the streets while the majority of the people in the USA oppose this policy.

So, what next? Watch the Republicans get rid of Obamacare and everthing else to help the poor and dispossessed, while the Democrats only bawl.

 

 

Of guns and conservatism

I find most members of the Republican Party in the USA (aka conservatives) very dangerous indeed. For if their philosophy is to be believed, when young children who are raped or been the victim incest, they must be reminded of the horror every day by being forced to carry an unwanted child for nine months.

On the other hand, if anyone wants an assault weapon to murder innocent children or anyone, they must be allowed to get it.

For why else would a civilian want an assault weapon except to commit mass murder?

I am not at all anti-gun, for in my book if someone wants to have a gun to protect themselves or their family, or to go hunting, they should by all means be allowed to do so.

However, there are guns for various types of activities. So, for example, some people tell me that assault weapons should be allowed for hunting. But my understanding of hunting is that it is a sport, so shouldn't the poor animal have some kind of a chance of survival?

According to the U.S. Department of Justice (in a 1994 debate,) "assault weapons are semiautomatic firearms with a large magazine of ammunition that were designed and configured for rapid fire and combat use."

I think the most relevant word above is combat, for that is really what they are designed for.

That means war.

Is it this love for weapons of war among a significant proportion of the Republicans in my book, which have caused America to start so many wars against far less armed nations too. For example, recent incursions into places like Iraq, and Libya.

It seems to me too, that American philosophy is really built on bullyism....... I have better weapons so I will kill you and take what you have.

Wasn’t that the entire foundation of the nation as they tried to wipe out the native Americans? And they have carried on that tradition over the years with non-whites being the targets under Jim Crow and ever since. (Heard of the Tulsa Massacre etc?)

According to the National Library of Medicine, assault weapons and other high-capacity semiautomatics appear to be used in a higher share of firearm mass murders (up to 57% in total)"

Would you believe the majority of decent Americans oppose having assault weapons in civilian hands?

 According to Gallup, between 57-61% of persons polled in the USA think assault weapons should be banned, but the legislators have consistently ignored these facts.

So why are most Republican legislators opposed to the banning of assault weapons when their constituents want them to be.

Corruption it would appear.

 In the USA, there is a well-entrenched method of bribing legislators called lobbying.

This is how Wikipedia begins its description of lobbying;

“In politics, lobbying, bribery, persuasion or 'special' interest representation is the act of a legally sanctioned attempt at influencing the actions, policies, or decisions of government officials, most often legislators or members of regulatory agencies.”

Among the richest organizations which use lobbyists in the USA; are gun manufacturers and the NRA (National Rifle Association). Why you may very well ask? The answer lies in the piece published by the Huffington Post in 2017 entitled "Assault Weapons Sales Boom Fuels Gun Industry Profits, And Tragedy." (It is interesting to learn via the History Newsletter, that the NRA opposed access and carrying of weapons in the 1960's when the Black Panters were the propoonents and whites were scared out of their pants by them!The NRA Supported Gun Control When the Black Panthers Had the Weapons - HISTORY)

 It is therefore my view that until the USA addresses the corrupt system of lobbying, they will forever be shedding tears and saying prayers for victims of mass murders, be they mere infants, Texas May 24th, black people two weeks before in Buffalo, or people in churches, cinemas, malls etc.

Yes, every country suffers from crime with which violence is often associated. For humans will forever reach for weapons with which to harm others, be they sticks, cars, guns etc.

 But must the USA continue to make it easy for anyone with a grudge to kill people by the dozens in the flash of an eye, simply because that is what the NRA and gun manufacturers want?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Trafigura Again

A few days ago, I made the observation that the PNP and JLP were criminal organizations, based upon the fact that between them they had violently converted 25% of the constituencies in Jamaica into garrisons. For those who do not understand or have forgotten let me remind you.

The process of garrison formation is a type of political cleansing which involves using murder, arson, rape or terrorism to drive out the supporters of the other party and make the constituency or division into a homogeneous unit.

The latest example of this took place in St. Catherine in August this year when when some fifteen to twenty heavily armed members of the PNP aligned Clansman gang, invaded a community and killed ten persons in one night including an 11 year old child. This is the same Clansman gang whose leader Bulbie the PNP chose over their own Member of parliament Heather Robinson in 1995, when she told parliament how he was trying to take over her constituency but her colleagues refused to offer her any support. So she was forced to leave the constituency and the rest is history.

During the conversation referred to above, I maintained that there could be no redemption for Jamaica as long as those two parties alternate in government. I was asked by a caller if the younger politicians wouldn't make a difference and asked him if the Mafia started a university what would he expect the graduates to be?

I didn’t have to wait long for proof that this observation was spot on, for within a day I heard on the news that the President of the PNP youth organization was saying there was nothing wrong with Trafigura giving his party $31 million just before the 2007 election.

For the benefit of those who have no idea what the Trafigura issue is, let me enlighten to you. Trafigura is a company registered in the Netherlands and it collects, transports and sells Nigerian oil for Jamaica. For as a fraternal gesture many decades ago, the government of Nigeria started to give Jamaica oil at US$5 per barrel less than the market price.

During the 90's, in a sweetheart deal the PNP government passed on this concession to Trafigura for them to lift the oil and sell it on the open market and give us something. Guess how much they give Jamaica from this deal? 12 cents per barrel !

Since an election was on the horizon in 2007 and the oil lifting deal was soon to come up for renewal, when the news of the surreptitious "gift" leaked, most Jamaicans assumed that it was a straight bribe for them to get back the contract without competition, a corrupt act in any part of the world. However, Trafigura insisted that it was not a gift but a payment on a contract and they claimed to have a written document to prove it. Problem is however, up to today, no one outside of the PNP and Trafigura have seen this contract and we have no idea what the party which formed the government was tying us into.

To understand the possible implications, one must understand what Trafigura is and how it operates.

This is the company which in 2006, paid treacherous Ivoirians, (natives of the Ivory Coast in Africa) a small amount of money, (less than $31 million) to contaminate their land and people by dumping dump toxic waste in their country. As a result of this poison being dumped there, a number of Ivoirians died and thousands more had to be hospitalized. The million dollar questions therefore still stands, was the $31 million given to the PNP as a bribe or was it a down payment on a contract to dump toxic waste in Jamaica thus destroying lives and the environment ?

Having gone to the mafia college however, the young politician can see nothing criminal nor wrong with taking a bribe from or getting involved in a contract with such a disreputable company!

You know, the late Michael Manley, former head of the PNP was known to be a very unprincipled man, but I prefer to think his expressed love for Africa and things African could have been genuine.

 Therefore I am prepared to put my neck on the block that he would never have had any kind of association with a company which had so brutally destroyed the lives of poor black Africans. But the young graduates of the present mafia institution do not see a problem here

What a set!
