Honoring women

International Women's Day is the 8th March, but the entire month is celebrated worldwide as Women's History Month.

We therefore appreciated Tamarac City hosting a breakfast and social on Thursday 26th March, to remind us of the outstanding women throughout the country who had broken through the glass ceilings, making life better for all of us.

It was fun.

Purple is the official color for womens history month.

It was a nice little session, good food, good music and fun people.

Christmas 2024

This Christmas, Shadrach, Shadean, and I drove to West Palm Beach to celebrate with his mom and grandma.

It was a wonderful day. There were great food, games, gift exchanges, and, of course, the latest music, karaoke, and dances organized and performed by the chief entertainer, Melissa.

We had a wonderful day.

Botswana it is😊

I will be returning to Botswana in 2026😊.

I had never set a solid travel timeline before but from the day I had the opportunity to visit that wonderful country, I vowed 'I shall return."

Thing is, when you reach my age and have a full bucket list, it's not so easy to plan these things. However I was listening to a BBC interview last night, with a lady who had visited every country in the world.

When she was asked which country she would like to visit again, without hesitation she said Botswana then added Madagascar and Costa Rica.

I love listening to and respect the views of like -minded travelers. So here it is: I have never been to Madagascar and  maybe should also include it in my bucket list for future reference.

I have been to Costa Rica many times and although it's a beautiful country, will skip that one.

But for 2026, Botswana it is😊.

Museum of Illusions

 This is one cool place.

Omg. My head on a platter?😭

When you come to Orlando you automatically think of Disney, but Icon Park is a wonderful place to relax and take the kids, as it has a lot of really great stuff.

They even have early Christmas.

And looks what's beside it!

That is where Madame Tussauds is too and there are lots of food and souvenir places. But my favorite place is the Museum of Illusions.

We sure had fun there.

Yup. Enjoying my  second childhood.😁

Zipping away

I never knew I would ever go zip lining, as I hate heights. So much so that when we were in Ghana and took an excursion which included walking on 7 swinging bridges over the tree canopies, I did only one and turned back.

My granddaughter did all seven.πŸ‘

There were 4 lines. This was the highest and longest.

Anyway, zip lining is fun.

On 3 we had to run and swing and that was no problem. For the fourth, we had to climb up about fifty feet to the landing and I couldn't start off. It wasn't fear. I just never knew how to step off so I asked this young lady to push me off.

Lost my one of my slippers but a man climbed down and got it for me.

My granddaughter did it upside down!😲

It was really exhilarating.

This was in Kauai, Hawaii.

There was a final one called zip and splash. This is a short one like at our oun YS Falls where you hold on to a rope , slide to the middle of the river and let go.

I wasn't interested in doing that in Hawaii, as the river looked dirty and cold. Besides the sun had gone in so I would have to contend with cold breeze on my body.

That's ok. Been there, done that in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica, where the river is much nicer and the falls inviting.

Yup. Would do it all again.😊

Waikiki Jam

I feel bad about enjoying myself in the calm Pacific, while my friends on the Atlantic side, brace for the monster Milton.

But it is what it is .

Here is a pictorial journey of our jam on the Waikiki Beach, Day 1.

The most massive roots I have ever seen
